SPANISH RAPIER SWORD

ANTIQUE SWORD XVI CENTURY

Excellent specimen of rapier sword in excellent condition.

The handle features a superfine braided wire cover in perfect condition and triple braided wire trims, the oval-shaped knob with longitudinal indentations.

The forged bow bowl is firm and in excellent condition.

It lacks the half sphere of perforated sheet metal that would complete the defense of the bowl.

Ricasso smooth since the gunsmith’s punches are on the blade.

Vinva is read on each side, an S-shaped punch and unreadable punch.

The sheet made up of 3 tables almost to the point, it ends at a 45 degree angle, it is noted that it was made at the time.

Blade of rare section since it is kept wide until the end, generally these swords have a rather narrow blade with a sharp and non-cutting effect.

Very good general condition.

Total length 117 cm.
